OCEAN WEEK- Monday and Tuesday

MONDAY- 3-D FISH

After discussing how pastel and water paint work together in a process called WAX RESIST, we looked at a couple of fish from the GREAT CORAL REEF to see what designs and colors they are.
To our surprise, the DIFFERENT shapes, colors, and designs are endless!

While the 3-D FISH dried outside, we also used the same information about the Coral Reef and decided to place a small Coral Reef into a FISH BOWL. We colored the small stuff with pastel SOLIDLY, and left the rest to be painted in using Tempera Water Paint. We were so busy that I didn't get the change to take any photos of the completed 3-D FISH!!!

TUESDAY-FABULOUS FISH

With some help from Ms. Michelle, everyone outlined the basic shapes of an oval body, triangle tale and fins, and can't forget the "fishy kissy lips!!  Next, they painted in their fish remembering to "dip and wipe" the bristles so there would be no unwanted drips!

"SKINNY BRUSH outlines and BIG ONE fills in"!
Wow that paint sure dries fast in the blazing hot sun!!
Next, GADGETs were dipped into paint and printed onto the solid painted fish body in a Fabulous Fish design.

OMG! Smurfs? Time to wash up!

THURSDAY- continued FABULOUS FISH and NEON FISH SCULPTURE

Returning friends from Tuesday will finish designing their Fabulous Fish and create a Neon Clay Sculpture!!!
Thursday only friends will create a Neon Clay Sculpture!!
