First Week of Art Class by Ms. Michelle will begin Tomorrow!


Week #1 Animals in Art, A to Z


Monday JULY 8th, Mondrian Animal Painting and Collage- If Mondrian could have a pet that resembles his most famous painting, Broadway Boogie Woogie what kind of animal would it be,
and what would it look like? Today, students will
student learns a little about abstract artist Piet
Mondrian, they will design their animal in the style of Mondrian using Primary colors paints and details with paper and markers
Tuesday- July 9thEric Carle Inspired Animal Collage ( Not just limited to Zebras)  Students will enjoy a painting workshop using tempera paint and tools for texturing the painted surface. Looking at Eric Carle books as an inspiration, students will create any animal they want. Using their previously textured papers, they will draw, cut, and glue making a wonderful collage animal
Wednesday July 10th, No Classes 



Thursday, July 11thPete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons -Painting and Collage

Any details that were not complete from Tuesday can be completed today! 
Inspired by Eric Litwin and Illustrated by James Dean, Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons will be read and the animated video viewed. Students will draw, paint and add on details using collage materials and pastel to create their own Pete the Cat or design a friend for Pete!




Friday, July 12th, Joan Miro Inspired Animals Designs Painted using Pastel and Tempera Paint. The use of pastel and water paint together is called Wax Resist. These animals will be drawn in pencil, and colored in using pastel and Tempera cakes.
